Wilhem Reich

Post  Fraga on Tue Oct 09, 2012 6:57 pm

"Wilhelm Reich (24 March 1897 – 3 November 1957) was an Austrian psychoanalyst, known as one of the most radical figures in the history of psychiatry." wikipedia

"Reich developed his theory of orgone energy over several years and expanded it throughout his lifetime. His theory was the result of experiences with his neurotic patients and his biological experiments, which he felt provided concrete evidence for the existence of orgone.

Orgone energy can be thought of as organic or "life-energy." Reich first observed this energy while studying the bioelectric nature of pleasure and anxiety. Using a galvanometer, he discovered that in pleasurable situations skin has a charge, while in displeaurable ones it does not. He initially called this phenomenon "bioelectric energy."

Later, while attempting to research the origin of life, Reich discovered what he termed bions. These globules of energy seemed to give off a certain radiation, such that when objects were left near the cultures containing bions, those objects became highly charged. Reich later observed that this radiation was the same energy he had observed in his skin conductance experiments, and that indeed, this energy surrounded all living things and was free in the atmosphere. He renamed this energy "orgone." "

After conducting an experiment in which Reich believed he had succeeded in developing protozoa from bions, he began to investigate the formation of cancer cells. He believed that cancer cells formed in the same way, and supposedly produced a motion picture in which cancer cells did indeed develop from the breakdown of living tissue. Reich felt certain that this "biopathy" was the result of sexual repression. auhrea.worldpress.com, Sex and Spirituality

"Psychic health depends on orgastic potency, i.e., upon the degree to which one can surrender to and experience the climax of excitation in the natural sexual act. It is founded upon the healthy character attitude of the individual's capacity for love. Psychic illnesses are the result of a disturbance of the natural capacity for love."
Wilhem Reich

Reichian therapy involved the breaking of the "patient-doctor" barrier, with him wanting to be seen as another human, not an authority of sorts. Sometimes, therapy involved the patient getting naked or in underwear, while Reich touched certain parts of his body when the patient was adressing a particular emotion. This has to do with the aforementioned orgonic energy.

You appear to have failed to motion orgonite. Anyone in here a gifter? I've only done it once but it's really fun and you really do feel the energy these rocks give off.

i major Psychology. Had never heard of him.

But i Think that love cures anything even cancer. If you will to live because you love living the universal Orgone will be there to back you up and give you a hand.

sexuality was a major on those times but i don't think the lack of it would give cancer. What could give cancer would be the excess of desire to have sex.

a friend of mine makes orgones, he gave me a couple of unfinished ones (not encased in resin, just quartzes wrapped in copper). when i held them in my fists i felt them coursing energy through my arms back and forth to each other. i tried it with other people and they said the same thing. i don't know what to do with it when it happens, but it definitely happens

i think it's worth noting i'm not very sensitive, as far as sensing things that can't be seen with the naked eye, and i noticed it right away. i imagine someone more gifted in that area would get a lot out of working with orgone

I'd rather have you elaborate on your beliefs, than just mention them.
Any reasons in specific why you think this? Any arguments for it?

Wilhelm Reich found that by layering inorganic and organic materials he could flow orgone energy through it like a magnetic field. Then, by putting a crystal such as quartz into the field (melding it right into the orgonite) you could filter the negative energy right out of the atmosphere. The typical orgonite is layered metal (copper normally) as the inorganic material, and fiberglass resin as the organic material. Many people do something called gifting which is putting orgonite under radio towers (huge sources of negative energy).

Reminds me a lot of this: en[dot]wikipedia[dot]org/wiki/Vitalism
Don't mind that that article seems like it's written by a prick, there's still some value you can get out of it.
There are differences, though. Orgone is thought to be universal and associated with things that aren't strictly alive, like clouds. This makes it capable of dodging a lot of the criticisms that killed vitalism; for instance, it's not disproved by the fact that organic chemicals can be assembled from inorganic compounds. The newly created organic compounds would have just as much orgone as those from a living being because they have less entropy.
Here's something to think about, though. Would orgonite be able to be made from the crushed-up bits of a sentient robot? Would it be possible to make orgonite out of books? Words?

That's a good question. Molecularly the metal would have so little carbon it should be able to be counted as inorganic and be used in orgonite. A self aware bot however would develop a field of orgone around him. Surely SOME of this would stick to the metal after the dissemble of the robot. Consequently I don't believe the robot could be used in the same way as metal for orgonite. Books on the other hand are made from wood, trees. I think this means paper could be used for orgonite as a sybarite for the resin. Writing words on the paper, good words, would give the paper an even higher positive orgone charge. This could actually be a formula for BETTER orgonite.
