is the whole 2012 phenomenon part of some scheme to get everyone excited/scared and then steal their energy? or sell mediocre new age books? even my mom has been talking about it. i figure it'll be all over tv here after U.S. elections, i don't know if this is a global thing but everybody around me seems to be aware that december 21st is the "end of the world."

i'm picturing a million obese people, eyes glued to the screen, wondering if everything really will end. in my own experience, my thoughts have quite a hold on reality around me, it's kind of freaky to think that so many people are giving this idea so much credence, not necessarily excluding myself.

i have this idea that if i myself can manage to survive the end of year perils, so will everyone around me. it sounds superstitious but i plan on sitting out under the stars all that night. hopefully everybody will not be raptured when i go back into the house.

it's kind of neat though, because comparatively fewer would be talking about "woo-woo stuff" if it were not for all the doomsday predictions. [although i've learned the most skeptical people often have the best ghost stories.] so do tell, how do you plan on circumventing the world's end this christmas?

i've had thoughts kind of similar to that, i guess. i, personally, don't think anything's going to happen. though i would find it somewhere on the hilarious side of darkly amusing if something did happen simply because everybody expects it to happen. i'd go out laughing, if that were the case. sounds like the plot to a gaiman book; just funny enough to actually happen.

It's bullshit blown out of proportions.

+ I've been making $100 bets with people and saying "If the world does end, and I mean END in the sense that civilization falls and the world is torn to peaces, or it literally blows up, you win. If not, give me my hundred bucks."

(also made them sign a legal contract)
