Hey, i didn't know where to put this thread so i put it here.

What are your thoughts on dream analysis? Its one of the things that have taught me more about myself. In a Dream there is no will associated to a day-time persona. In a Dream it is a pre-verbal volition that makes the decisions for me, my "soul" spirit or whatever. And the symbols and storylines of dreams have very pertinent PERSONAL knowledge. Plus, you don't hide from yourself in a dream: what you dislike about yourself appears as a sort of unpleasant image.

btw Marie von Franz has a couple of documentaries on youtube where she speaks of her analysis over some patients, it's mindblowing. its called the Way of Dream.

Dream analysis is a very good tool for finding out what your soul needs. For me, I have read and believe that many dreams show what the soul wants, allow one to fulfill an aspect of oneself that is lacking in real life, and it can also be the way the subconsciousness "defrags" the days events. Overall, dreams are very important for healing.

There is no "best way" to interpret a dream; as different ways work for different individuals. I find what works best for me, however, is recording how I "feel" the moment I wake up from the dream. It usually gives some sort of indication of the dream mood. After that, I only take the most striking symbol in the dream(s) and see what it means.

Totally, it's really interesting and useful. I think some ancient people said dreaming was "speaking with the gods".

Thanks for the link. Also, as i see dreams and vision from meditation somewhat a connection to other dimentions/universes, I find the subject very interesting. Alltough I havent gotten into the subject that much. I have been planing on buying books about it but I guess they would be to limited in the source of information. This will be usefull to analyse the nightmares ive had the past days.

On books, i'd recommend "Interpretation of Dreams", by Freud ;its a nice one on the subject.

I have heard about that Freud was very much about interperting dreams, never got into his works tough. It sounds like its something that would be accessable in Swedish stores, so I will look it up.

Im really tired right now but here is one of the dreams I had last night, it was later followed by a sleep paralyzis when i got back to sleep.

I am in a grey and dirty room that has glowing markings on the walls. As I tough one of the markings I hear a roaring voice in my head that speaks, what to me is, nonsense. I can feel that the voice is angry with me and wants to punish me. I see the voice of a male. He is the one that put me in the room. As I let go of the markings, I realise I am covered with soars. They are infected and they hurt alot. The panic and pain is intense, this is when i wake up.

The sleep paralysis followed up is the usual sleep paralysis I have. I wake up in my room, having the feeling of a presence. I can see him in my doorstep and he walks towards me, bends over me. He has yellowish skin and bloodshot eyes with an hysterical, manical look. He strangles me until I get free from the paralysis. Since I moved here ive had this particular sleep paralysis everytime I have them. In the house before, I wake up to a different man just being bent over me, alltough with the same bloodshot eyes and the same maniacal look, alltugh with a smile. The man now, has an more, hatefull, evil look to his face.

This is also a good link. It's a big dictionary of terms with their symbolic dream meanings. Take the major thematic elements of your dreams and look them up in here. I've found it incredibly useful.
