The HAARP Project
What are your thoughts about the HAARP project? I can't really form a valid opinion on it yet. Everyone I try to talk about it with offline just laughs it off. Is it really controlling the weather? Or causing mass mind control?

Re: The HAARP Project
Well for the most part I've never even heard of the haarp project, so if you could give a rough / detailed outline of what the theory is it'd be a great thing to discuss.

Re: The HAARP Project
I'm sorry, I shouldn't have just assumed everyone would know what I was talking about.
Anyway, HAARP stands for High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program. And it is an ionospheric research program jointly funded by the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Navy, the University of Alaska, and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.
From What I have read about it they created it for analyzing the ionosphere and investigate the potential for developing ionospheric enhancement technology for radio communications and surveillance. It's a high-power radio frequency transmitter facility operating in the high frequency (HF) band. The ionosphere is the electrically-charged sphere surrounding Earth's upper atmosphere. It ranges between 40 to 60 miles above the surface of the Earth. Put simply, the apparatus for HAARP is a reversal of a radio telescope antenna send out signals instead of receiving. HAARP is the test run for a super-powerful radiowave-beaming technology that lifts areas of the ionosphere by focusing a beam and heating those areas. Electromagnetic waves then bounce back onto earth and penetrate everything living and dead. I have also read that they have facilities around the globe housing these high powered transmitters.
A picture of HAARP's antenna's...
I have also read this about what the military claims it could do.
The military says the HAARP system could:
This is all just crap I have read from place to place, and I really don't know how TRUE this all is.
Now to the conspiracy part.
People claim that the HARRP project can;
There is more but I am in the process of gathering more information about it now.
I'll post more information providing I find any that is worthwhile.

The military says the HAARP system could:
- Code:
-Give the military a tool to replace the electromagnetic pulse effect of atmospheric thermonuclear devices (still considered a viable option by the military through at least 1986)
-Replace the huge Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) submarine communication system operating in Michigan and Wisconsin with a new and more compact technology
-Be used to replace the over-the-horizon radar system that was once planned for the current location of HAARP, with a more flexible and accurate system
-Provide a way to wipe out communications over an extremely large area, while keeping the military's own communications systems working
-Provide a wide area earth-penetrating tomography which, if combined with the computing abilities of EMASS and Cray computers, would make it possible to verify many parts of nuclear nonproliferation and peace agreements
-Be a tool for geophysical probing to find oil, gas and mineral deposits over a large area
-Be used to detect incoming low-level planes and cruise missiles, making other technologies obsolete
This is all just crap I have read from place to place, and I really don't know how TRUE this all is.

People claim that the HARRP project can;

-Used for mind control on a massive level
-Be used as an actual weapon

Also, the forum wont let me post real links for 7 days. As soon as that time period is up I will start posting video and site links for all of this stuff.

Re: The HAARP Project
All I've heard is that its a research project, and they are researching aurora's and stuff...
And yeah there was this guy who posted on /x/ once, about the end of the world, he said that the Illuminati are going to fire the harp,
and it caused the tsunami's in Japan.

Re: The HAARP Project
I've heard a lot of claims about HAARP and the most frequently presented evidence for the weather control aspect of it is those weird circular cloud formations. I've actually seen one myself once, in Northern Virginia. It's eerie as hell but I don't know enough about meteorology to say that it's not perfectly natural.
Re: The HAARP Project
Then there is also all these strange noises comming from the sky, heard all around the world. Ive heard some people think its a side effect from the HAARP. Since some theorys are about the balance of the earth is being unstable and all.

Re: The HAARP Project
Well, i think it can and is used to disrupt brain frequencies, which affect moods, thought patterns, and climate, why not. By listening to a certain frequency, we end up adapting to it. So if they want an ever-anxious, insecure, pleasure driven population, this could do the trick. And they sure have the means..
But i also believe that a strong enough brain pattern from a determined person, or a person in a state of "happiness" or "self-control", intellectual or creative ecstasy, could quite possibly be unaffected by these wave patterns.
Does anyone sense a change in themselves when turning on a tv? as if some of those (supposedly) same frequencies were being sent by the device, placing you in a more tame, vulnerable or mind-silent position?

This is a complicated subject because TV also has a whole slew of cultural associations and physical properties that aren't just its sonic ones. Not to mention the things that are actually on TV!Fraga wrote:

Is there the possibility of the various frequencies of radiation a TV emits coming and messing up your brain? Certainly. But I think it's more likely that advertising is at fault.
TV advertisements are designed to change the way you think to be more receptive to their products. While I don't believe that ads are actively malicious, I certainly don't like the idea of things opening up my brain and tinkering with stuff more than necessary.

Re: The HAARP Project
I agree with the ad thing, and furthermore, i actually think every social meme's portrayal on TV, i.e. ALL TV content (thus much global modern culture) is probably in one way or another dishonestly "tinkering with our mind".
But, though i don't have the technical knowledge to be able to evaluate wether the frequencies of the TV have some sort of HAARP like quality to them (in a manipulatory, dystopian sense), i still think that the sheer presence of a TV and it being on are very... eery and mysterious. A box that shows images has this seductive quality to it...
It replaced the Fireplace when it appeared, and in think it serves that purpose (with a wicked purpose, i believe, enjoying this "central" position in many rooms). Just the TV being on, even in mute, it's presence in the room is undeniable, and it's effect, though not as direct and one-on-one like an ad, is certainly a deep one, i would say.

Re: The HAARP Project
That reminds me a lot of feng-shui, dealing with the energy flow in rooms and stuff. And even the most hardcore skeptic would have to admit that the feng-shui approach certainly does create aesthetically pleasing rooms.Fraga wrote:a lot of stuff I don't want to quote because it would make this look like a wall of text
As a side note, I don't think there's anything wrong with "tinkering with people's minds" if it's for a good reason. That's basically what we're here to do, to ourselves and each other. It's just I don't like it pushing me in a random direction, towards a place that probably benefits them more than me.
More on-topic, and speaking of technical knowledge...

has a shit-load of stuff that haarp does, if you're willing to wade through occult language. Apparently it makes the sky glow.
There's only 1 haarp-related thing on arxiv, but arxiv papers can always be read all the way through for free:
