The Wisdom of the Myth Empty The Wisdom of the Myth

Has anyone read or seen "The power of Myth" by Joseph Campbell? There, he argues for the correspondence between the most archetypical human struggles and narratives and most if not all myths, from all over the world. It's wonderful, this man was a very wise man.

Example: The archetypical story of the slaying of the dragon; meaning the slaughter of an inner demon, or THE inner demon; after one kills the susceptibility inside ourselves to certain things, our deepest fears around wich we build our personalities, we get both immense riches (The kingdom of heaven is like unto a treasure hidden in the field; which a man found, and hid; and in his joy he goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.) and the donzel (the inner feminine, repressed and sought after by every person (males; girls have prince charming) throughout their lives (alchemical marriage, philosopher's stone)... Many myths share this theme, along with the teme of the great crossing of the desert, or the underworld, (unconscious).

Look, a "modern" myth. www .youtube. com/watch?v=f_OawJA68jI
