food, water, and sungazing

Post  Melpomene on Tue Oct 09, 2012 9:52 am

i really just don't want to eat anymore. i feel like my food is making me sick (and it is, because i am). right now i'm a vegetarian, i try to drink distilled and deionized water, and eat lots of spicy peppers, but i don't really think that's enough. a few years ago it was, but my body is being very sensitive right now. i feel like i just can't eat anything.

i don't know much about sungazing, i have not tried it, but i really want it to work. on the surface seems like it's the answer for me. i suppose i should give it a try and i was wondering if anyone here had any firsthand information on it. other than that, are there any known ways to get energy without having to consume food? or just detoxify?

i know this sounds a little extreme but this theme has followed me my whole conscious life, and i am convinced i am not the only person whose food makes them sick. it's enough to make me at least consider sungazing. i'll report back after a week of it. hopefully someone else on here has experience. i'm curious to know as well if 'strange' eating habits are the norm around here.

my reference for sungazing come from the comments on bronte baxter's tracing the crack in the universe, which is worth the googling effort.

Vegetarianism is unhealthy due to protein deficiency, are you sure this is not the cause?

i suppose i cannot be absolutely certain. i've been vegetarian for a very long time though, and i eat my beans and vitamins (this reminded me to do that, thank you). this year i've been vegan for a time but only barely. and i've been sick with this skin thing on and off for two years. it was mostly stress from work i thought, but i don't have the luxury of changing jobs (which is how i got better before). i wish i had more information to go on, i will just have to experiment with a more distinct diet i guess. like i said food has always frustrated me so it's helpful to have an outside perspective.

Anorexia is the mental disease with the highest fatality rate. More so than depression, schizophrenia, anything. It kills people.
The western scientific answer to this would be to consider the possibility that you have an eating disorder and deal with it appropriately if you decide you do. Besides, no matter where your spirit is, your body still needs fuel to run.

Sine you stated you have gone vega, I think we could be on to something here. Vegitarians at least eat protein products such as egg, milk and cheese. Also, try to eat more then just beans. Lentels and Chickpeas (especilly) have alot of protein. And swap the vitamin pills to protein pills instead if you are planing on sungazing, becaus you will get alot of vitamins from that and the fruits and vegitables you eat.

I was vegetarian since I was very young but decided to be pescatarian after 7 years due to nutritional issues. I understand how you feel you don't feel like eating and it makes you sick. I get that also and go on raw-vegan breaks and or cleanses and that's fine. But you really, really have to make sure you are getting the proper nutrients. Take some supplements and/or make sure to use a vegan meal planner to keep yourself in tip-top shape.

As for your skin legions, go book an appointment with a dermatologist. If it's itchy, any sort of antihistamine will at least help curb the horribleness.

If you are really planning to sun gaze too, make sure to protect your eyes. Good luck! Smile

i can't argue with you that my energy is not directed in a disordered manner. in my head i am at an impasse. i truly don't believe that any sort of treatment could help me out. when i was younger i went to this outpatient thing for a month because i was an unruly teenager and they 'treated' my bulimic tendencies. really the only thing that helps me is smoking weed. i know i do it too much but damn if it helps. i am aware somewhere inside of me that this is a vaguely serious situation but i'm so used to it, it's just naturally where i turn my attentions to.

that's wise advice, i intend on taking it, mostly because lentils are delicious! i am really perplexed now. i was convinced i was having some sort of reaction to dairy stuff because of the timing. but i think it's more my mental aversion to it. i ate grilled cheese for breakfast and my skin has cleared up a lot >_> i must admit everyone so far has a point. this reminds me, i've read that smoking marijuana drains you of your vitamins, in which case i'm probably in the negative. it's really typical that i forgot about that too.

antihistamines? i will. they are clearing up today all of a sudden. maybe because they're in sneaky spots and i haven't really had to explain them to anybody, and it was kind of a relief to all of a sudden have information. i just assume i got sick cause i have an underlying frantic nervousness about lots of things, and eat dairy sometimes, and that's how my mind works. i'm glad i have been opened to more realistic possibilities. it means a lot to me that you understand, actually, i guess a part of my tension is that i feel very alone and it's easier to drift away when i don't want to be in my head or body.

Im only speaking for myself when I say this but I think most would agree. I have an open mind for peoples beliefs and I like to learn from them as much as I like to contribute. I also care about other people and do everything I can to help, eventough it can lead to the worse in some cases. I have some vegitarian and vegan friends that have had the same problem as you and when having a special diet due to a lifestyle or belief it is very important to work alot with it. Learn new recepies, research about the ingredients.

On topic:
Im glad to hear that you're symptoms are somewhat getting better. Keep in mind to combine the beans and lentels. Different lentels and beans have different nutreons so combine alot. Stews are a great way to do this (especilly with potatos, yummie). Hummus, wich are basicly just mashed chickpeas with seasoning, give you alot of energy and protein. Spread it on a bread or use it as a dip for vegtables (And chips when you feel you want to fatten up. Wink ). Also great to eat bread in combination with food. This way you will get alot of energy from vitamins and protein from one meal. Try to eat dark bread tough, white bread has less vitamins and could be bad for your energy.

On an additional note: Taoism teach alot about eating herbs for the well being of your body. I dont really know much of the subject but couldnt hurt to mix some herbs in there too.

Sup, OP. I'm kinda in the exact same boat as you. I can hardly eat and I'm fatigued. It started 2 months ago for me, and it's horrifying that it has lasted 2 years for you. I suggest you try ginger (or diet ginger ale is fine) with lemon...I got that recommendation a little bit ago, and whenever I try that combination I feel a little bit better. If you want to talk further about this, go ahead and PM me.

thank you for all your help! i took your advice and stocked up on beans. and i forgot how yummy potato stew was! thank you for reminding me. you have helped me out more than you prolly know, haha. i will have to be more vigilant at planning out my meals if i don't wanna be sick. and i suppose meals are indeed necessary. i will be so sad when my little herbs get cold and die :[ i used to munch some stevia and mint every morning but then i felt like i was eating my babies. perhaps i have over complicated the munching process. and i am glad you know other people in the same confused vegetarian boat. feel like i'm gonna make it, or something like that.

ah lemon and ginger! that's my favorite juice! not even kidding. i get it in a glass bottle, it has honey and grape juice i think. but i imagine it's just as easy to make. and don't be horrified, i am pig headed and i predict you will do much better than i did at figuring this stuff out.
